Storm Drain Installation & Shotcrete Reinforcement
Here in the Lowcountry, proper drainage infrastructure is critical to long-term site stability and performance. For this project, we installed structural shotcrete lining within three new storm drain pipes located beneath an active railroad, requiring careful coordination and precision execution.
Our team applied approximately 408 linear feet of structural shotcrete at an average thickness of 3 inches, reinforcing the pipe system and providing added structural strength. Working under a railroad demands strict safety standards, controlled access, and efficient production to ensure both structural integrity and uninterrupted rail operations above.
This process enhanced load capacity, increased durability, and provided long-term protection for critical infrastructure supporting the rail corridor.
At Palmetto Gunite, we don’t just build infrastructure — we strengthen the foundations that communities depend on every day.
